Aloha from Mary and Christina!
As we start our new year, we reflect on this past year and the accomplishments that we have achieved. We have certainly had a busy year working to break free of our Oahu-centric past. January kicked off the year with our inaugural “All Island Social” which occurred simultaneously on Maui, Kauai, Island of Hawai‘i and O‘ahu with such varied topics as Connectivity, “You had me at Aloha” and “Move their Bodies, Move their Minds”. Pau Hāna’s afforded us the opportunity to connect, enrich and network at such diverse locations as the fabulous Blue Note Waikīkī, Makers & Tasters, Tommy Bahama and the new and exciting Lucky Strike. Capitalizing on visiting hospitality dignitaries, we offered a Coffee with Michael Dominguez where he spoke about the state of our industry from his unique perspective. We hope you have enjoyed these varied opportunities as much as we have during this year.
For the remainder of 2017 and into 2018, we plan to expand program topics with relevant events … the end goal of further uniting our community and industry. Our volunteer board members, representing three of our islands, will ensure that we listen to your collective voices and keep our chapter alive and activities.
We appreciate your membership and will continue to uncover ways to provide further value to you. We encourage you to reach out to us at any time to be involved as a volunteer, which is the fastest and most effective way to find that value.
Mahalo nui loa,
Mary Neister, President
Christina St. Amant, Past-President
